Prompt 10: Citrus

When I started planning for this prompt, I originally just drew oranges and orange slices. Mainly just to get a feel for the colours that I would possibly use, but also to try and come up with a creative story idea.

It was really difficult I have to admit and at some point I just considered filling the whole page with different citrus fruit, but then my husband challenged me to draw a fruit fly serving orange juice at a fruit bar.

In the end I attempted his idea and I'm absolutely surprised by the outcome. I did one rough sketch before this finial one. Even though I like how it came out, I do prefer the version of the fruit fly in my rough sketch. That just means that I will have to return to this again.

Story:

Meet Fred, the fruit fly. He runs the local Beebar on Weltevrede. Today's drink of the day is Orange juice, Honeybee's favourite.
