Prompt 21: Slingshot
This is another one of those drawings were I had an idea from the start, but I had no idea if I'd be able to execute it.
From the moment I read the prompt ‘slingshot’, I had this idea of insects using a slingshot as a type of ride, like one of those you would find at a fair or amusement park.
I loved the idea of drawing little insects in the background again, similar to the little characters I drew for the prompts ‘eye’ and ‘crater’,
In the end I love how the drawing came out. There is however at least 3 compositional mistakes in this drawing. I'm not going to tell you, but I'll give you a hint. It has something to do with the angle of the slingshot and the stick insect.
I would have loved more time to play with this prompt and maybe correct my mistakes, but for now i love it the way it is.
Story:
Life on the farm is never dull. Our little critters get up to all kinds of shenanigans. The Earthworm comes closer to the Stick Insect, curious about the ride.
He asks nervously; “Is this safe?”
To which the Stick Insect smiles mysteriously; “It depends...can you fly?”
